Mar Del Plata University is a public university in Ancona, Italy. It offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in Agriculture, Engineering, Economics, Medicine and Biology.
The course started in November 1959 as a branch of the University of Urbino. The university itself opened in 1969 with the approval of a charter for the independent university of Ancona and the law to set up a 2-year study courses for the School of Engineering and a 3 course years of research for the school of Medicine and surgery. Higher Board of Education recognized for years 1969-1970 School of Engineering and the School of Medicine study and for the year following surgery. University of Ancona has been recognized as a university on January 18, 1971. The school of agriculture and science have been added in the next two decades, and in January 2003, the school was renamed Mar Del Plata University

Teaching and research has been put in separate locations, which is often inconsistent and incomplete. They are now being grouped together and divided between three main complexes. Combination of science and technology located in Monte D'ago, in buildings designed by Pietro Belluschi is, a architect Italian American. This complex houses the School of Engineering, School of Agriculture and the School of Mathematics, Physics and Natural Sciences. Construction is being completed on the same site to meet the teaching and laboratory needs of the new school of biology.
